Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 12, 2025
Substack Analyzer is built by a solo developer who hates privacy policies as much as you do. Here's the short version: I collect only what's needed to make the tool work, I don't sell your data, and I keep things as simple as possible.
What We Store
On our servers:
- Email address — For account login (magic link auth) and transactional emails only
- Voice profile — Your writing style description, so comment drafts sound like you
- Scoring rubric — Your topic preferences and scoring criteria
- Usage logs — Which posts you analyzed and when (for your history and debugging)
- Payment info — Handled entirely by Stripe; we never see your card details
In your browser (local storage):
- Analysis history — Full details of posts you've analyzed, stored locally on your device
- Session token — Keeps you logged in
What We Don't Do
- We don't sell your data to anyone
- We don't share your data with third parties for marketing
- We don't track you across the web
- We don't store the full text of posts you analyze (only metadata for your history)
Third-Party Services
We use a few services to make things work:
- Anthropic (Claude API) — Powers the AI analysis. Post content is sent to their API for processing but not stored by us afterward.
- Stripe — Handles payments securely. We never see your card number.
- SendGrid — Sends magic link login emails.
- Render — Hosts our backend.
Data Retention
Your account data stays until you ask us to delete it. Local browser history stays until you clear it or uninstall the extension.
Your Rights
Want your data deleted? Just email me and I'll take care of it. No forms, no runaround.
